USI50197 The Mini-me has a unique handle shape which curves inward, making it very easy to hold, especially for slicing. This handle shape nearly resembles karambit-type qualities (although it is not a Karambit in any way). There is a solid brass hand guard situated with a large lip that fits the index finger perfectly. 1095 high carbon steel and 15N20 alloy steel are forged together to make 300-400 layers of flexible Damascus prodigy. Steel so hard that it sharpens past a razors edge and can be nearly surgical in sharpness. Yet, retaining tensile strength so the blade returns to original shape after bending or from impact. This equates to a fine blade edge that will cut without dulling (compared to 1045 or stainless steel), and can endure long periods without sharpening.
The handle is made of genuine stag horn (from a deer), which comes from a natural and renewable source. At the top and bottom of the handle lies 6mm Walnut bands to decorate, along with a solid brass band with artistic metal-working. At the end of the handle is a solid brass pommel, and you can even see where the knife maker staked the full tang of knife. Due to the nature of handmade stag horn and Damascus steel, some very slight variations from the pictures may be visible. All Damascus knives are picked at random and inspected before shipping. In other-words, each handmade knife is unique.
